Also, if there are any with you that are not strong swimmers, the water depth drops off quickly and is very deep. Swimming is popular there but Canyon Lake is a big boating lake. Funny.

Turn south(left) and go 4 miles to Nichols Road. Many of these beaches are also located near other attractions such as playgrounds, picnic areas, and parks. But the water is just a large pond away from the main reservoir. Will never be returning to this park. Beaches with Roped Swimming Areas.

Comal Park would probaly be your best "beach" to swim from. Turn right and go west 4 miles to the south park entrances.   Take I-25 to Pueblo. Like all Oregon beaches, Cannon Beach is a public recreation area.
