What is the difference between Intel Core i5-9600K and AMD Ryzen 7 2700X?
It's certainly no slouch in multi-threaded tasks, though, and is a far better affordable all-rounder than its predecessor - something that a Core i5 K-series CPU should be.Content creation is a mixed bag.
The Core i5-10600K didn't leapfrog the Core i5-9600K, but I've found that CPUs that lack hyper-threading do better in recent Far Cry games. This is all essential as they include the latest security fixes and performance enhancements so I'd be very wary of any benchmarks out there that do not specify this aspects of their test systems. The fact that it has such an increased cache, a better TDP, and PCIe Gen4 compatibility are all factors for the argument that this CPU can also work well for light working loads like streaming/editing applications. Sure, it will also overclock better than the Ryzen 5 3600X, and will reach higher frame rates in gaming, but at its current price it seems to be competing with AMD’s Ryzen 7 3700X ($308), which is an 8 core 16 thread processor, and a much better CPU candidate moving forward into the next generation of consoles and gaming. Once again, we only have a recommended customer price for this CPU, meaning that we have the price for a wholesale of approximately one thousand units. Hi everyone, i've decided to upgrade my pc, right now i've got an i5 3470 at 4.06 OC with 8gb ram and recently got a gtx 1070. With the cpu i'll buy 16gb 3600mhz ram (the best i could find for my budget). With the cpu i'll buy 16gb 3600mhz ram (the best i could find for my budget). At the end now i'm leaning towards the i5 because i've seen some comparsion game benchmarks and the cpu utilization is lower, frametimes are a bit lower as well but the main point is Overclock for me. Intel Core i5-9600K vs Intel Core i5-10600K: 17.
edited 12 months ago. However,as I mentioned before the Ryzen 5 3600 destroys the Core i5 9600K when it comes to DAW benchmarks. The Ryzen 7 3700X is again a monster and the Ryzen 5 3600X is also noticeably more powerful than the Core i5-10600K until the latter is overclocked, where it draws level. However, while today will be focusing on performance versus the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, there is one big issue here - pricing. That's likely to be closer to $300 retail, which means that price-wise, AMD's Ryzen 7 3700X is actually a better comparison so I've included it in the graphs too.The extra grunt of the Ryzen 7 3700X in this multi-threaded GIMP-based image editing test is clear with the biggest core and thread count winning.
The i5-9600 currently sells for $199.69, not including a CPU cooler. At stock speed the 10600K offered an 8fps advantage over the 99th percentile minimum frame rate of the Ryzen 7 3700X and Ryzen 5 3600X, with the former cutting that gap to just 3fps once overclocked. The arrival of Zen 2 marks the end … It may not reach the FPS levels of the overclocked i5-9600K, but it will still do the job it is meant for just fine, and maintains the ability to multithread, whereas the i5-9600K cannot.Having launched toward the end of 2018, the Intel i5-9600 lacks the hyperthreading capabilities of its new iteration, as it features a 6 core, and 6 thread, configuration, with a 9 MB L3 cache, and an operating frequency of 3.7 GHz that can overclock to 4.6 GHz. It has a TDP of 95W, and shares the exact same memory specifications with the Intel i5-10600K. 64 points. The Core i5-10600K did at least match the Core i7-9700K and if you need a decent gaming CPU with multi-threaded grunt, then this would suggest the 10600K is actually a better option for many than the 9700K given it will hopefully cost a lot less. AMD continues to push the multi-core performance envelope: benchmarks show that the 3600 has a 27% overclocked 64-core lead over the 9600K but that the
This CPU lacks both the Intel Thermal Velocity Boost Frequency, as well as the more useful Turbo Boost Max 3.0 Technology found in its i9-10900K and i7-10700K counterparts.
Currently, the i5-9600K will work just fine with most current-gen, and popular online multiplayer, games, but will surely start to have difficulty processing more recent and upcoming triple-A single player games set to be launched with the next generation of consoles. I have to say that temperatures were much lower than I expected too, with 5.1GHz on the Core i9-10900K easily tamable on my test bench using liquid cooling, perhaps thanks to the new thinner die and thicker heatspreader that Intel claims boosts cooling. However, it differs in other ways too. To see if this theory holds up, we'll be stacking up the Ryzen 5 3600X not only against its immediate competitor - the Core i5 9600K - but also the higher end offerings from both Intel and AMD.
Based on 165,778 user benchmarks for the AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT and the Intel Core i5-9600K, we rank them both on effective speed and value for money against the best 1,257 CPUs.
