The application period to apply for the City of Glendale’s Emergency Rental Assistant COVID-19 Program has closed. The City of San Diego’s COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program helps individuals and families with low income in the City of San Diego who have lost income due to COVID-19. The Glendale Community Action Program administers the following financial assistance programs for people that are experiencing a temporary crisis resulting in a loss of income or increased expenses making it difficult to meet basic needs. An independent third party will conduct a lottery of all the submissions received and the results will be made public on or before July 31, 2020. Payment will be made directly to the household’s landlord. Who is Eligible:Residential tenants needing assistance to maintain housing and/or reduce delinquent rental payments. Each program has multiple funding sources with various income eligibility requirements. Each applicant being considered for housing assistance will be interviewed and will be required to demonstrate their eligibility to adhere to all of the guidelines of the project. There will be two rounds of funding that will support in total 380 households. Restrictions on the use of federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funds do not apply to private donations that support this program.These CBOs are among more than 60 to which SDHC reached out to ask for help to raise awareness about this program and potentially help households complete their applications. The Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP-C19) provides residential rent payments to landlords on behalf of a low income eligible household, up to $750 per month, for two months ($1,500 maximum assistance).
