A payment for the Section 8 voucher amount will be made directly to your landlord each month by your PHA. Generally, families will pay no more than 40 percent of their adjusted monthly income toward their rent share. You will then pay the difference between the actual rent charged by the landlord and the amount covered by the voucher.
