I was given the options available to me and amazingly the new contract saved me £20 per month so I was well happy.Customer service is awful - somehow their mistake is my problem.
Set up a Direct Debit. They did have the audacity to write to us advising how they are "looking after us" during the current corona virus pandemic. We know how stressful this can be so please call us as soon as possible.Why not set up a Direct Debit so you can spread your water bill payments over the year rather than paying one lump sum? Severn trent had changed us to water plus. We wrote to customer services on the 19th March to complain about this charge which it was assumed had obviously been applied in error but got no reply. No response to emails.We are a small business and had to close the shop for 8 weeks due to covid.On reopening I received an extortionate bill from water plus I rang and explained we had been closed and was told they would raise a new invoice .Received the new invoice only £10 less .Rang today and apparently just been informed by a rather obnoxious person that I should have closed the account I said I wasn’t aware of this and was told it’s been all over the news so it’s my fault .Disgusting attitude . Water Plus is a water retailer providing billing, meter reading, account management, water efficiency and other services for businesses and organisations across England and Scotland. I have had nothing but problems for the last two years! They also state if we don't pay the £40 within 14 days further "debt activity fees" will be applied. We are small business how on earth they justify there billing service...Refuse to read meter. Please enter it without any spaces between any of the digits. We did object in April 2018 to their decision to introduce billing four times a year rather than twice, I mean this is a cattle trough but they were having none of it, billing has to be 4 times per year. To our absolute horror our next bill received on 14th March 2020 contained a charge for £40 DEBT RECOVERY COSTS for late payment of the December demand!!
We ALWAYS settle our suppliers accounts within 30 days of the invoice date, we don't try and hang it out until the last minute, they supply the goods, its only fair they get paid on time.
